Your data
Privacy policy
Your meal plan is yours. This policy explains the limited information ChowWeek uses to make the app work.
Data ChowWeek uses
ChowWeek stores the household preferences you choose, saved meals, weekly plans, grocery checks, cooking feedback, and reminder choices so the app can work. A local copy stays on your device for offline use.
ChowWeek does not require your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifier for initial use. If you choose to protect your data with Sign in with Apple or Google, that provider and Supabase process the provider account identifier and may process an email address or Apple relay address according to your provider choices.
Cloud sync
When cloud services are available, ChowWeek creates a pseudonymous account identifier and uses it to sync app data. The identifier is not intended to identify you by name.
Supabase provides ChowWeek’s authentication, database, storage, and server functions. Cached app data remains available on your device when the cloud is temporarily unavailable.
Subscriptions, attribution, and analytics
Apple or Google processes purchases. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous customer identifier and purchase information needed to verify subscription access.
On iOS, ChowWeek uses Apple’s privacy-preserving AdServices attribution through RevenueCat to measure whether an installation or subscription resulted from a ChowWeek Apple Ads campaign. This standard attribution does not use the advertising identifier or permit ChowWeek to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
ChowWeek sends limited product events to Mixpanel under the same pseudonymous account identifier used by the app. Mixpanel automatic event collection and IP-based geolocation are disabled. These events help ChowWeek understand onboarding, planning, subscription, recipe, and grocery use; they are not used for third-party advertising.
Sentry processes crash reports, stack traces, app version, operating-system and device context, and a small sample of performance traces so ChowWeek can diagnose reliability problems. Sentry is configured without default personal information, screenshots, session replay, interaction labels, request details, or navigation breadcrumbs. ChowWeek removes error messages and URLs before diagnostic events leave the device. Recipe content, meal notes, grocery item text, and other free-form user content are not sent to Sentry.
ChowWeek does not send recipe content, meal notes, grocery item text, or other free-form user content to Mixpanel.
Local reminders
Weekly planning and planned-meal reminders are scheduled locally on your device after you enable them. ChowWeek does not upload notification contents or use a remote push-notification profile for these reminders.
Retention and deletion
App data is retained while your pseudonymous account remains active so the app can restore your plan and preferences. Analytics, diagnostic, and attribution records follow Mixpanel’s, Sentry’s, RevenueCat’s, Apple’s, and ChowWeek’s configured retention schedules. Local operating-system backups and service backups may follow their providers’ own retention schedules.
Use Settings → Delete my ChowWeek data to permanently remove ChowWeek’s cloud account and local app data. ChowWeek also requests deletion of the associated RevenueCat customer record. Deleting data does not cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google; manage that subscription in your store account.
Your choices and questions
You can keep reminders off, remove saved meals and grocery checks in the app, start over with a fresh local profile, or delete your ChowWeek data.
For privacy questions, email support@chowweek.com. If you cannot access the app, use the public account-deletion page to request deletion without reinstalling ChowWeek.
